Why businesses choose a Nevada virtual number

A local Nevada number builds trust before the call connects — and keeps costs at zero.

Higher pickup rates in NV

Nevada residents and businesses are significantly more likely to answer calls from a local area code than out-of-state or toll-free numbers. A local number is the first step to getting the call connected.

01 — Nevada at a Glance

Nevada, by the numbers.

Area code 702 was assigned in 1947 and served all of Nevada — Las Vegas, Reno, Carson City, and every small town — for more than fifty years.

On December 12, 1998, Nevada split for the first time: 775 took over Reno, Carson City, and the rest of the state, while 702 kept the fast-growing Las Vegas metro.

Las Vegas tourism, casino growth, and rising cell phone use exhausted 702's numbers within about a decade and a half.

Rather than split again, regulators added overlay code 725 on May 3, 2014, covering the same southern Nevada territory as 702, with mandatory ten-digit dialing.

Did you know?

Area code 702, once assigned to the entire state of Nevada in 1947, now covers only Clark County and its surroundings, a single metro area that includes Las Vegas, while the vastly larger remainder of the state relies on area code 775.
