How it works

Two very different data sources.

The free check runs entirely on your device: it matches the digits you enter against 237 real country dialing codes and a plausible-length check. No API call, nothing logged.

Carrier name and ported status are a different kind of fact — they change in real time as numbers move between networks, so they can only come from a live query against telecom numbering (HLR) databases. That's what the paid Lookup API does.
