What is the +34 country code?
Numbering in Spain is administered by Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC); numbering plan set by the Secretaría de Estado de Telecomunicaciones e Infraestructuras Digitales.
Numbering format
Spanish numbers are always 9 digits with no trunk 0: mobiles start with 6 or 71–74, landlines with 8 or 9, and the first two or three digits of a landline identify the province (91 Madrid, 93 Barcelona).
Calling culture
Spanish business hours often include a later start and a midday break — confirm local hours before scheduling, as the workday extends later into the evening than in much of Northern Europe.

- Customer-service calls may only come from designated short numbers, the 800/900 freephone ranges or geographic numbers; mobile numbers are not allowed for them.
